Opportunity In America
Opportunity in America was a Student Reporting Labs project that focused on the kinds of opportunities available for youth in middle and high schools, highlighting the struggles that Generation Z face and overcome.
• Worked together with editors and producers on the project to brainstorm during meetings for social engagement, participated in a Twitter chat with a Huffington Post reporter, Rebecca Klein, Chalkbeat New York and Poverty in America. The chat focused on asking the participants questions based around what opportunity looks like for K-12 students in America.
• Edited over 30 videos sent in from high schools around the country to color correct, place lower thirds, and adjust the video to SRL standards before posting to the official Opportunity in America website.
• Google spread sheets and frame.io were used to help document and organize what videos were being worked on and what kinds of edits needed to be made.
